We Fight Any Claim Charity Blog Lilly-May Milestone

At the beginning of last month, we were introduced to an inspirational little girl, Lilly-May. From the moment that Lilly-May and her mum Rhian visited the We Fight Any Claim offices we were captivated by this brave little girl’s positive aura and her mum’s amazing strength.

We decided we wanted to support Lilly-May in her dream to move into a specially-adapted home near her grandmother in Porthcawl, by raising as much money and awareness as possible.

There has been a real sense of team spirit since we shared Lilly-May’s story, with hundreds of staff members and managers joining in a variety of fundraisers to support such a worthwhile cause.

Here’s a round-up of some of the events this month which have contributed to this great fundraising effort and brought us closer to our target for Lilly-May.

A team of 27 football fanatics fought it out to become the ultimate FIFA champion with a tense office tournament this month.

Players paid £5 to enter, all of which went in the Lilly-May fundraising pot. Pizzas were ordered to the office and participants were whittled down through group stages, semi-finals and then a fierce final in both an Xbox and PlayStation category.

The Xbox final was between Jordan Smith and Clinton Williams, with Clinton clinching the title in the 90th minute after a very close game.

The final two standing in the PlayStation round were Shaun Glynn and Dominic Gibbons, with Dominic again claiming victory in the very last minutes of the final battle.

Clinton and Dominic were awarded with a trophy to display proudly on their desks, but nothing could beat the feeling of being labelled WFAC FIFA Champion- and helping raise £150 for Lilly-May in the process.

Pyjama Day

Some members of our team rolled out of bed this month, saved time getting ready, and arrived at work in their toasty nightwear to join our pyjama party.

Sales Advisors paid their £3 donation and picked their favourite pair of PJs to relax in all day.

Pyjama party donations raised a fantastic £235 towards our total for Lilly-May.

Staff in their comfies

Staff on our sales floor got into the spooky spirit of Halloween with a fancy dress day at the end of this month.

Colleagues donned their creepiest costumes and paid £3 to add to our ever-growing fundraising pot. There were awards for the best fancy dress and a raffle with top prizes to add to the frightening fun on the day.

Dress Down

Every Friday this month, hundreds of staff at WFAC came into work dressed in casual comfy clothes, and donated £1 for the privilege.

All of these donations were added to the funding pot to support Lilly-May. Some staff even went the extra mile and ‘dressed down’ for the whole month of October, adding £10 per person to Lilly-May’s funds.

So Where Are We Now?

We are so proud to announce that the generous donations from departments and staff all across the company have contributed to us hitting a huge milestone of £3000 for Lilly-May. As this piece was being written the amount was still rising, and it is set to rise even further with more fundraisers planned throughout November.

At We Fight Any Claim, we aim to provide as much support as possible to people and projects in the local community. It really makes us proud to think that we have played even a small part in helping this little girl get the help she needs. We will continue to support Lilly-May and her family as much as possible.
