Bored of your typical workout routine? Want to try something new? Well we’ve done our research and found three fun new exercise classes in the area to add something a bit different to your fitness regime!

Pound Fit

Pound Fit is an exhilarating new fitness craze that’s sweeping the area.

Using specially designed weighted drumsticks, Pound Fit transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out.

The typical work-out playlist is turned off as you become the music, and Pound Fit distracts you from the high-intensity and duration of your workout, shifting your focus to rhythm you make with the drumsticks.

The full-body workout combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements. After you’re done drumming your way through a typical class, you’ll have completed up to 15,000 reps, worked through more than 70 techniques, and burned up to 900 calories without even realising it.

Designed for all fitness levels, the workout is easily modifiable and the alternative vibe and welcoming philosophy appeals to men and women of all ages and abilities.

To further add to the benefits of this trendy new class, it has been proven that the rhythm of drumming permeates the entire brain to improve focus, increase higher-level thinking and decision-making skills, boost the immune system, lower blood pressure, decrease chronic pain, anxiety, and fatigue.

Our very own Holly Griffiths is a regular at Pound Fit and loves the class:

“It’s really refreshing compared to other exercise classes, and it doesn’t feel like exercise because it’s so fun. You can instantly feel and see the difference in your body after a couple of sessions. I would highly recommend it!”

Buggy Fit

Buggy fit is a postnatal exercise class aimed at new mums looking to get back into shape after giving birth. Suitable for all levels of fitness, from 6 weeks postnatal onwards, the class improves strength and stamina, making daily tasks with the baby easier. There is a focus on improving areas that have been damaged during pregnancy and childbirth, mainly core, pelvic floor and posture.

There is no pressure in the class and you work at the level to suit you.

Classes are run by mums for mums so there's never any pressure if the baby is unsettled. Mums are able to stop to feed their babies and they can join back in when ready. The classes are also a fun way to meet new people during what can be a lonely time while you’re off work and on maternity.

Scrap the trainers, Kangoo Jump boots are the latest must have fitness accessory, featured on Loose Women and worn by celebrities such as Made in Chelsea star Binky Felstead.

But what are they?

Well, Kangoo Jump boots are used in a new exercise class to hit the area called Bounce Fit.

Typically 45-minute per session, the class combines cardio, stretching and floor exercises….all in the boots.

Granted they are rather heavy, however once they’re all strapped on they actually add lightness to your step, which lessens the impact on your joints. This makes Bounce Fit classes ideal for people of all ages, and means anyone who has had issues with their joints or have had arthritis can get involved.
